Access Entertainment has obtained a stake in Brett Ratner’s production and film-financing company RatPac Entertainment, accessibility declared Tuesday. The purchase will see the company take possession of the film, documentary and television business of RatPac, in partnership with Ratner, who’ll remain CEO.
The deal, that was made to quicken RatPac’s fast-growing film and television business, saw accessibility purchase out RatPac co-founder James Packer. Variety revealed in February that the Australian entrepreneur was quietly seeking to unload his stake the firm he helped build.
The move also sees Access, a branch of Len Blavatnik’s accessibility Industries, have a significant step into film funding by acquiring a massive share of this RatPac-Dune venture which co-finances films for Warner Bros..

Access Entertainment President Danny Cohen will function alongside Ratner, who retains his interest as co-chairman.
“Len and I’ve shared the same vision and passion for movies, music and television through the years,” said Ratner. “Because of his experience and enthusiasm, RatPac Entertainment is going to be an even more formidable provider of superior entertainment globally.”
Blavatnik launched Access Entertainment in May of This past Year.
RatPac was set up in 2013 by Ratner and Packer, who partnered with Dune Entertainment on a multi-year co-financing treat Warner Bros. to get as many as 75 films. Thus far, RatPac-Dune has spent in titles like Alfonso Cuaron’s Oscar-winning “Gravity,” hit terror franchise “The Conjuring,” household hits “The Lego Movie” and “The Lego Batman Movie,” along with DC Entertainment titles such as “Batman v. Superman: Morning of Justice” and this season’s upcoming “Wonder Woman” and “Justice League.”
